First of all, my apologies for the two month gap in this newsletter – I was busy doing funding applications for our core work, advice, and waiting to hear about funding for our other projects…
Afternoon at the British Museum – we’ve got a visit to the British Museum scheduled for Friday 6 March 2-6pm. These visits include refreshments, a handling session with some of the museum’s objects and a bespoke tour of one part of the museum. If you’re interested please call me on 020 7580 4576 – places are limited to 15. I will try to arrange transport for any who have trouble using public transport or walking, again let me know if you need this.
Defining Beauty: the Body in Ancient Greek Art will have a Community view at the British Museum on Sunday 22 March. I’m not sure how many free tickets we will get to this but do let me know if you’re interested.
Time to Sing has unfortunately finished this past month for the time being. I’ve applied to the Marylebone High Street Ward Fund to continue – if you live in this area, please support our application by writing to your local councillors, who are Iain Bott, Ian Rowley, and Karen Scarborough at Westminster City Hall, 64 Victoria Street SW1E 6QP Phone: 020 7641 5371 or email ibott @westminster.gov.uk, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com Many thanks!
Lunch on Mondays is available at the George and Dragon pub on the corner of Cleveland and Greenwell Sts from 12.30, at a (higher) discounted price of £5 for a REGULAR MAIN MEAL ONLY, Specials and drinks extra. This is through the kind generosity of Paul the pub landlord who has carried on with this out of his own pocket after the MacAlpine funding finished.
Massage/Reflexology is on Wednesdays, 2.00 – 3:00pm at Fitzrovia Court, 24 Carburton St W1W 5AS. I do the schedule for it on Tuesdays. If you’re interested, please call me on 020 7580 4576 and leave a message before then.
Waterstones Book Group is looking for new members and invites you to come and try it out. All welcome. It meets at 6.15pm for an hour on the Second Tuesday of the month (next one 10 February) in the basement café of Waterstones, Gower Street. We read mainly fiction or biography set in London, with occasional deviations. Please just turn up or ring Sandra Wheen on 020 7637 8456 to say you are coming so that the group can look out for you.
