Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association AGM on Thursday 13 Oct, from 6.30pm at the Indian YMCA. We are facing severe difficulties over funding and premises this year. Please show your support by writing your local councilors about the importance of our work, and if you can, attend the AGM.

The Fitzrovia Poetry Workshop will meet on Monday 3 Oct, 2-3.30pm at Fitzrovia Court, 24 Carburton St. Please bring along something you’d like to share with others whether you’ve written it yourself or not.

Pub lunch on Monday 10 Oct, meet 1.30pm to eat at 1.45, in the Marlborough Arms, Torrington Place WC1.  Cost £3. Menu: Roast of the day, Hunters Chicken, Sausage & Mash, Beef & Potato Pie, Fish & Chips, Scampi & Chips; with desserts served with ice cream or custard + tea, coffee or juice. Ring Sandra on 020 7637 8456 to book and place your order by Thursday 6 Oct. Please make sure you arrive by 1.30 on the day. We have spoken to the management about poor quality/amounts last time, we’re giving them a final chance this month. If you have ideas about other places please let us know.

Current Affairs group Monday 17 Oct, 2-3pm at Fitzrovia Court. This month the British Museum is visiting with some objects from their handling collection – so will be talking more about past than present!

Massage is on Wednesdays, 1.30 – 3.30pm in Fitzrovia Court. If you’re interested please call me on 020 7580 4576 to book a 15-minute slot. Treatments will be in the basement. Please feel free to come along for a cup of tea and a chat in the lounge, whether you’re having a massage or not. Philomena has also started to do private massage and reflexology treatments on Thursdays at Fitzrovia Court, call her on 07931 502 029 to book an appointment.

The All Souls Clubhouse has a variety of regular activities running for older people, including Art class, Tai Chi, Keep Fit and Falls Prevention & a new Money Lounge which offers tips on personal finances. Wednesday lunches are £3.50, please phone  07806 487 689 to book.
