The Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association (FNA) will be moving sometime this month to 5a Goodge Place W1T 4SD. Our phone numbers will stay the same. Tuesday Advice drop-in sessions 10am-1.30pm will be affected for a week or so during the move but everything else will remain in place at Fitzrovia Court.
Computer classes are available at Fitzrovia Court 24 Carburton St on Wednesdays, 10-11.30am in the basement Craft Room. Attia teaches basic skills like internet searches, email, online safety. The classes are limited to 5 people, please pre-book with me on 020 7580 4576.
Time to Sing is on Mondays 11am – 12.15pm at Fitzrovia Court, 24 Carburton St. No experience or skills necessary. Have fun singing familiar songs with a friendly group of people! This will start again after a break on 10 June.
Lunch on Mondays is available at the George and Dragon pub on the corner of Cleveland and Greenwell Sts from 12.30, at a discounted price of £3 for main meal only, drinks extra. This is through a kind donation from Sir Robert MacAlpine, contractors on the old Middlesex Hospital site. This is really for people on this list or who live in Fitzrovia – you’re welcome to bring friends from outside the area but they’ll have to pay full price for their meal.
Massage/Reflexology is on Wednesdays, 1.30 – 3:30pm in Fitzrovia Court. If you’re new to the programme or have been on it and haven’t had a massage for a while, do give me a call to make an appointment on 020 7580 4576.
We’re planning a minibus trip with All Souls Clubhouse to Mudchute Farm in the Docklands on one of the Fridays mid-June. (Hoping for better weather!) Sorry I haven’t been able to confirm the exact date before publication, but if you’re interested, please give me a call on 020 7580 4576.
All Souls Clubhouse has a very good range of friendly exercise classes available, including Tai Chi, and Falls Prevention. They also run two very useful services: Clubcare which includes visiting and other help, and a shopping trip to a cheaper supermarket than locally available every two weeks on Thursday. If you’re interested in any of these, please call Cherry on 020 7255 9756.
Be aware: a phone scam is going on: someone calls claiming to be from your bank, saying that your account has been accessed by an unauthorised person, and that if you don’t type your pin number into the phone and give them your bank card they might take everything. DO NOT DO THIS, IT IS A SCAM! Your bank would never ask for your details like this over the phone. They are very persuasive apparently but please just PUT THE PHONE DOWN.
Cheers, Barb Jacobson, Co-ordinator
