Older Fitzrovia Newsletter, November 2013

Time to Sing will carry on for at least another two months at Fitzrovia Court (24 Carburton St W1W 5AS) Mondays 11-12.30. No experience or skills necessary. Come have fun singing familiar songs with a friendly group of people!

Come and sing with the Royal Opera House  The Royal Opera House will be running a series of 5 singing sessions at the All Souls Clubhouse (141 Cleveland St, London, W1T 6QG) after the lunch club on Wednesdays 2 – 3.30pm from 30 October – 27 November. The sessions are open to anyone interested in singing, and no previous experience is necessary. The session will be led by a professional musician and will include a wide range of songs so that you can enjoy group singing together. Feel free to drop in, join in, or just listen from Wednesday 30 October onwards. (Sorry this didn’t come in til after last month’s newsletter was published, but people are welcome to join in whether you’ve been to the first session or not.)

Lunch on Mondays is available at the George and Dragon pub on the corner of Cleveland and Greenwell Sts from 12.30, at a discounted price of £3 for main meal only, drinks extra. This is through a kind donation from Sir Robert McAlpine, contractors on the Middlesex Hosp. site.

Massage/Reflexology is on Wednesdays, 1.30 – 3:30pm in Fitzrovia Court. This will also carry on for at least another two months. If you’re new to the programme or have been on it and haven’t had a massage for a while, do give me a call to make an appointment on 020 7580 4576.

Computer classes are now suspended pending further fundraising. Attia does do private tuition in this area, however. If you’re interested please phone him: 07415 823 397

All Souls Clubhouse has a range of friendly exercise classes available. They also run two very useful services: Clubcare which includes visiting and other help, and a shopping trip available every fortnight on Thursday. The lunches on Wednesdays are also still going. If you’re interested in any of these, please call Cherry on 020 7255 9756.

The newsletter is short this month – I will be busy raising funds for further activities, and our move is still in the process of being sorted out, hopefully we will finally have some news about this for December’s newsletter – or maybe even be in Goodge Place by that time….fingers crossed!
