Older Fitzrovia newsletter March 2013

After nearly 40 years at 39 Tottenham St, the Fitzrovia Neighbourhood Association is preparing to move to Percy St. I can’t say exactly where or when yet until the paperwork is signed, but we’re hoping to move sometime around Easter. When this happens our offices will be closed for about two weeks. I will be booking massage in advance of the move so this and most other activities held at Fitzrovia Court won’t be affected, but for obvious reasons it will be difficult to do advice in this time. Please accept my apologies in advance, I hope we’ll be up and running again as normal by mid-April.

Time to Sing is on Mondays 11am – 12.15pm at Fitzrovia Court, 24 Carburton St. No experience or skills necessary. Have fun singing familiar songs with a friendly group of people!

Lunch on Mondays is available at the George and Dragon pub on the corner of Cleveland and Greenwell Sts from 12.30, at a discounted price of £3 for main meal only, drinks extra. This is through a kind donation from Sir Robert MacAlpine, contractors on the old Middlesex Hospital site.

Massage/Reflexology is on Wednesdays, 1.30 – 3:30pm in Fitzrovia Court. If you’re new to the programme or have been on it and haven’t had a massage for a while, do give me a call to make an appointment on 020 7580 4576.

Need help with Computer skills? I will be available 1.30 – 3.30 Wednesdays to help with basic skills like email, web search and online event booking in the Fitzrovia Court lounge. No booking necessary, although it helps!

There will be a community preview at the British Museum for Life and Death in Pompeii and Hurculanium on Sunday, 24 March. I don’t know the timing of the tickets yet but if you’re interested do phone me on 020 7580 4576 to reserve. The tickets are free.

Community Shopping Trips – Every other Thursday 10:30am. Minibus from the All Souls Clubhouse (141 Cleveland Street) to Morrisons or Sainsbury in Camden. They will drop you and your shopping at home by 1pm. This service available to anyone over 60 living in the Fitzrovia area. Booking required – please call Jane Behan 020 7255 9756.

Cheers,
